A Unicorn

(written when I was 9)
It was as white as new-fallen snow
when no one had trodden on it.
Its mane was the colour of the sunrise,
of the purest gold,
whereas its eyes were the colour of midnight.
In it's eyes, a light gleamed and shone,
it was a sign of magic.
Its mane was covered in pale pink flowers,
with lush green stems and gold-yellow middles.
The unicorn had hooves
that glimmered and sparkled in the sunlight,
and a golden horn,
topped with brown swirls,
circling around it like a helter-skelter.
The girl watched as the unicorn flew away into the night sky.
