A Forest Poem

(written when I was 8)
The dark trees loomed above me
So big, so tall
The little birds were cheeping
Communicating with their call
The leaves came swirling down
As the wind slowly picked up
Down fell a whirlpool of red, orange & brown
And left the trees bare.
The wind howled through the remaining leaves of the autumn
And moss covered the ground
In a soft carpet
Capturing all of the sounds.
